Our Mission

Our mission is to promote affordable aviation and safety through offering high quality advanced simulator training training to the general aviation sector with a special focus on training professional pilots that want to operate in the Part 135 or Part 135 sectors of aviation.

 

Our Facilities

Our purpose-built facility at Stellenbosch Airfield includes:

  • Two simulators (Certified FNPT II MCC and non-certified BITD)
  • Instructor briefing rooms
  • Large lecture room with multi-media equipment
  • Computer Based Training (CBT) with multi-media PC's
  • CBT Desktop Trainer for GNSS equipment familiarisation (G430 and G750)

Our partner training schools also operates a Seneca II for multi-engine training. (The FNPT II simulator flight model and panel layout are based on the Seneca for better harmonised cross-training between simulator and aircraft)

 

Our Management Team

Our entire management team and staff consist of staff that is or was involved in aviation and has a passionate interest for the industry.

 

Owner - Francois Stols

Francois has been flying for 35 years and holds a CPL/IF rating and is a Grade II instructor. He also has 30 years experience in managing large companies and international businesses.  He is also the CI responsible for the generation and maintenance of training and operations manuals,course plans and quality assurance. Francois is the Accountable Person for the ATO

 

General Manager - Jonathen Stols


Jonathen held a CPL/IF and is passionate about flying but had to give up flying due to medical reasons. In addition to his general administration duties, he is the Responsible Person for our Simulators as well as being our Quality Manager. He also operates our front desk and is responsible for student bookings, student progress mapping (student files).

Accounts - Kay Joslyn

Kay has many years experience managing several flying schools in the Western Cape. Although no longer holding a valid pilot licence, Kay has several hundred hours flying experience and understand the needs of the industry well. 

 

Our Instructors

We pride ourselves in employing top-class specialist instructors that has many years airline and/or airforce experience. In addition to the full-time specialist instructors listed below, we also have several part-time and specialist instructors on our books that provides both ground lectures and flight training.

Our specialist instructors:

 
  • Adrian Woodley - Grade 1  and our Chief Instructor is an ex-airline Captain and South African Airforce Instructor on Harvards, heavy transport aircraft (C130), jets (Impala) and Helicopters. After his time in SAAF, he flew business jets (such as Falcons and Learjets) and most recently flew various Airbus arliners in the Middle East, including being a Training Captain at Gulf Air. 
  • Andre van Rensburg - Grade 1 and DFE has over 6 300 hours instruction time and over 22 000 hours total time. His internationla airline experience include flying the B777 and the B787 as a Traning Captain. Andre holds a Grade 1 Instructor Rating and almost half his instruction time was done on general aviation aircraft, providing him with a solid background in both GA and Airlines.

Several of our courses includes MCC procedures and as both Adrian and Andre are ex-airline training captains, they bring a wealth of airline experience and top-class cockpit management methodologies to our courses.

Other:

  • Francois Stols - Grade 2 has over 2000 hours general aviation experience and is a multi-engine and single engine rated instructor. He also provide all the instruction for ground-based courses.
  • Jonathen Stols - IOS Operator is qualified to operate the instructor station for customers wishing to do simulator sessions without the need to receive instruction.
