The picturesque Stellenbosch Airfield has always been a popular flying training destination for aspirant pilot training students. It has its own General Flying Training Area (FAD 69) nearby that allow students to spend more time training and less time commuting or holding on the ground or in the air such as is found at busy controlled airports.
South Africa has several top-class flight training institutions that cater for the leisure pilot industry or offer costly programmes designed for airline cadet students. At the Stellenbosch Flight Academy, we focus on the advanced training needs of the General Aviation community without all the rigours and expense of airline training oriented programmes.
Our primary target is the fast-growing Part 135 sector and many of our training courses and modules are designed and tailored to cater for the needs of existing or aspirant commercial charter or contract pilots and flight instructors. We also appreciate that there is a large community of highly discerning private pilots, with or without IF ratings, that have safety as a priority and strives to be better pilots through relevant and regular training. Our academy is for you too!
At the heart of all our training programmes is our new, modern Flight Training Procedural Trainer (FNPT II) that fully complies to the JAR and SACAA-FSTD A standards.
